Visa Issuance
What is the Visa Waiver Agreement?
• In principle, a foreigner who plans to enter the Republic of Korea
has to possess a valid visa (entry permission).
• To obtain a valid visa, it is required to consult with the embassy
or consulate of the destination country, submit the compulsory
documents, and pay the visa processing fee. You may require to attend
an interview in some cases.
• The Visa Waiver Agreement is designed to eliminate these
inconveniences, allowing entry to a country without a visa through
agreements between countries or unilateral or reciprocal measures.
• Those who wish to enter the Republic of Korea without a visa must
complete the K-ETA(Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) review and
obtain travel authorization.
