The organizing committee (hereinafter referred to as the organizing committee) of the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships, which will be held in Daegu from August 22 to September 3, 2026, sent Hong Bo-dan to the 2024 Godenberg World Masters Athletics Championships for the successful hosting of the world's track and field sports festival.

According to the organizing committee on the 14th, it dispatched Hong Bo-dan to promote the "2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Competition," which was unanimously hosted by 166 member states at the Finnish Tampere WMA General Assembly in July 2022, showing the heat of Daegu, a powerful track and field city.



Insu and Hong Bo-bo will set up a promotional booth next to the main stadium to actively promote the "2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships" for participants, companions, and visitors until the 25th when the competition ends.

In addition, the promotional booth introduces Daegu's culture, art, and tourism as part of the promotion of the competition, and is stepping up efforts to attract participants. In particular, the operation of Hallyu experience programs such as wearing hanbok, kicking jegi, and playing ttakji showed high satisfaction to the athletes who participated in the Godenberg competition.

In addition to operating promotional booths, Insu and Hong Bo-bo plan to use the dispatch period at the World Athletics Federation (WMA) General Assembly to announce preparations for the 2026 Daegu Games, inspect on-site operations such as stadiums, attend WMA representatives' meetings, and acquire WMA competitors.



Jin Ki-hoon, secretary-general of the organizing committee, said, "We will do our best in promotional activities to continue the agglomerated festive atmosphere of the athletes who participated in this year's Godenburg Games to the 2026 Daegu Games."

Meanwhile, the World Masters Athletics Championships will be held every other year, starting with the Toronto Championships in Canada in August 1975. It is a sports festival in which the masters of each age group of five, from 35 to 100 years old, participate at their own expense.

Starting with the opening ceremony on August 21, 2026, the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships will be held for 14 days until September 3, with more than 11,000 people from 90 countries expected to participate.
